Ω The Benefits of Supporting the Foundation
It is our great pleasure to announce to you that the Rangjung Foundation has been established and incorporated in Bhutan by Dungse Garab Dorje Rinpoche. The board of committee members has been formed in Bhutan and country representatives have been appointed. The following is a brief overview of the foundation. The information is not all-inclusive as a new website for foundation is soon to be uploaded. As such, as you consider your donation planning or if you have any questions about the foundation or would like to make a contribution, please contact the Foundation via email at rangjung_foundation@rangjungfoundation.org to discuss your interests and options. We would be delighted to provide more information. Rangjung Foundation is a non-profit organization and it is an ongoing effort to help the monks and nuns in the monasteries. The major role of this foundation is to provide education, accommodation, basic necessities, food and lodging for monks and nuns. The number of monks and nuns have been increased momentously in both Rangjung Woesel Choeling Monastery and Thekchok Kunzang Chodon Nunnery. It is therefore the foundation has planned a few future projects which definitively will contribute not only to the monks and nuns of Rinpoche, but to other needs such as requests from other monasteries, schools, hospitals, old folks homes and other religious activities as well. Here are more objectives regarding the foundation: 1. To propagate the lineage of Dudjom New Treasure to the world, especially in Bhutan. 2. To support the preservation of the Dudjom Tersar, by offering requisites and providing financial assistance to the monks and nuns who are pursuing the Buddhist philosophy and the practice of Dudjom New Treasure in Rangjung Woesal Choeling Monastery, Nunnery Monastery and retreat centres in Bhutan. 3. To spread the works of Dudjom Tersar. 4. To uphold all teachings of the Dudjom New Treasure. 5. To establish a foundation to spread the teachings of Buddha with the emphasis on the Dudjom Tersar. 6. To financially support the poor lay practitioners in Bhutan who have strong faith and devotion towards the Dudjom New Treasure Lineage.
The Rangjung Foundation is committed to helping the community through the following six projects. 1) Monks and nuns food fund project To provide food, daily expenses and accommodation for over 300 monks and nuns in Rinpoche's monasteries.
2) Old folks food fund project To provide food and lodging for senior citizens who do not have family to take care of their welfare.
3) Retreatants food fund project To provide retreatants for three years and three months retreat, as well as some other retreatants in the short-term retreats.
The building fund is meant for the construction of stupas, hostels, classrooms, kitchen, etc, renovation and maintenance of the monastery due to the growing number of monks and nuns whereby facilities are not sufficient.
This fund awards scholarships which create opportunities for monks and nuns who study philosophy of Buddhism in India and scholarships for the poor families who are not able to support their children to further studies in college and university in India. A computer scholarship will also be offered in this fund.
The future projects consist of a book publishing project, ritual ceremonies, medical project, educational project and fund-reserved project. These projects are soon to be established in near future. Helping people is a virtue. From the Buddhism perspective, giving your hands is accumulating good karma. However, if you are supporting the sanghas and the monastery are the highest and greatest virtues. It excels all other virtues. This is because in no way does a gift to a person individually ever bear greater fruit than an offering made to the monks and nuns. To make an offering with purity of mind, one will gain merits. There is no doubt that if someone makes or commissions an offering with faith and conviction, a great benefit will accrue to that person. As the saying goes, we reap what we sow. Therefore, a summary can be made here. "Whoever offers happiness to other people, he will be reciprocated with happiness". This means that we will receive whatever we do and offer to others. We as Buddhists believe that we will be reborn under the cycle of rebirth, so we all should do merit for a better and more perfect life in the future. We know that giving to a charitable foundation is an important and very personal decision. Here are the reasons you can be confident your donations in foundation is a good one. We make every dollar count and we will prove to you soon of the accomplishments of the foundation. Please support the foundation and now, we have an incredible chance to uphold the lineage. May Rinpoche's all-encompassing vision, continues unceasingly to inspire and guide us all. Thank you for your support !!!
